Job Summary
John Eichel Trucking Ltd is a family run transportation company located in Grosse Isle, MB. We are an experienced operation with more than 50 years in the business. We are currently looking for a Shop Mechanic to join our team. The mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing trucks and trailers.
Responsibilities and Duties
-Maintain, lubricate and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems on semi tractors and trailers
-complete major and minor repairs to trucks and trailers
-general shop duties
-write service reports
Qualifications and Requirements
-Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy trucks and trailers
-Red Seal Certified Heavy Duty Mechanics considered an asset but is not required
-Transportation to and from work and a valid class 5 driver’s license
-Class 1 or 3 with Air would be an advantage but is not required
-Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of fifty pounds
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively as part of a team when required
-Ability to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions with tolerance to fumes and odors
-Overtime available in evenings and on weekends
-Must provide and maintain their own hand tools
