Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Cross-Border Truck Driver to operate commercial vehicles transporting freight between and. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods across borders, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for cross-border freight transportation between designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Manage freight documentation, including customs paperwork, delivery manifests, and shipping labels.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to maintain vehicle functionality.
- Coordinate with dispatch for scheduling, route planning, and delivery updates.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to hours-of-service regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
Experience
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with cross-border certification.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably in cross-border freight transportation.
- Familiarity with forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and freight management.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus.
- Experience with managing freight documentation and customs procedures is desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cross-border transport.
