Assistant, Research & Prospect Management
(Temporary Fulltime: November 2019 – May 2020)

The Foundation raises funds to ensure patients at the University of Alberta Hospital, the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic have access to the latest advancements in medical technology and innovative patient care. As a result of very generous individuals and community support, we have raised more than $187million in the last 10 years to support patient care, advanced technology and clinical research.
Reporting to the Manager of Research & Prospect Management, this is an entry level position with great potential for the right candidate. The Assistant will contribute to advancing the Foundation’s mission by supporting our high-performing team of major gift fundraisers. This includes assisting with research requests/tasks and supporting the coordination of prospect management processes/procedures.
The Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the performance and success of UHF fundraisers by ensuring day-to-day objectives are met. This role is temporary full-time.
The Assistant will support the Manager of Research & Prospect Management in the following activities:
Compiling research profiles for donors, corporations and granting agencies.
Data entry and information management within UHF’s donor database and tracking spreadsheets (donor lists, donor assignments, portfolio evaluations, data queries, budget tracking, prospect management reporting).
Meeting support including preparation of agendas, scheduling, taking minutes and following up and tracking action items to ensure completion in a timely manner.
Media monitoring, information sharing, and documentation to assist fundraisers in developing and advancing relationships with donors and identifying new donors to engage with UHF.
Providing administrative support in the coordination and tracking of grant applications.
Assisting with the formal documentation and management of policies, processes and procedures.
Assisting with other tasks and projects related to research and prospect management.

Post-secondary education in library sciences or related field is considered an asset. A suitable combination of education or experience will also be considered. In-depth training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Experience working in an office setting or non-profit environment is considered an asset.
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team environment to advance the mission in a collaborative, integrated manner.
