Compensation Package

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef / Assistant Kitchen Manager to work alongside our Kitchen Manager in leading our Back of House team.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help oversee daily kitchen operations, mentor and develop staff, maintain high food quality standards, and confidently lead the kitchen in the Kitchen Manager's absence.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or Assistant Kitchen Manager
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience leading and motivating a kitchen team
- Knowledge of food and labour cost controls
- Highly organized, dependable, and self-motivated
- Ability to lead by example during busy service periods
- Passion for hospitality and exceptional pub food
- FoodSafe Certification (preferred)
- Experience in pubs, casual dining, or neighbourhood restaurants is considered a strong asset
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, mentor, and support the Back of House team
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable kitchen culture
- Train cooks on recipes, plating standards, procedures, and systems
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and staff development
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Manage prep systems, pars, and kitchen organization
- Assist with scheduling and daily kitchen execution
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering
- Ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations
Financial Performance
- Assist in managing food and labour costs
- Support menu development and feature creation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, food sales, and guest satisfaction
Health & Safety
- Maintain FoodSafe standards at all times
- Ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen
- Follow and enforce all health and safety regulations
