The Ministry of Central Services, Property Management Division, Prince Albert Region, is seeking an individual to join their service team as a Building Operator in Prince Albert. As a member of a service oriented team, you will be responsible to provide customer comfort and service by ensuring a safe environment to Central Services' customers/clients.

You will access the Archibus work order program. You will respond to client inquiries and ensure facilities and equipment are safe and in good operating readiness. You will also perform routine maintenance; operate/maintain manual and powered grounds equipment; climb ladders, lift and or carry heavy objects. You will be responsible for security procedures and equipment and ensure facility and equipment is safe and meets operating standards. You will be responsible for supervision of other Accommodation Services' maintenance staff.

You will have the ability to supervise staff, work independently and prioritize work; perform maintenance procedures on buildings and grounds; safely operate and maintain manual and powered grounds equipment. You will possess the ability to inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose technical/mechanical malfunction to determine the cause, identify a solution and/or arrange for repair of equipment. You will also co-ordinate and monitor project expenditures and activities to ensure tasks are completed in a timely fashion and work objectives are completed.

In this position, you will be required to perform minor building maintenance repairs and grounds maintenance as required. The successful candidate will be required to operate grounds equipment (manual and powered) and must be able to climb ladders and lift or carry heavy objects. These duties include all minor building maintenance and repairs, and grounds maintenance including snow and ice removal from sidewalks. You will also perform checks to HVAC and heating equipment (i.e. boiler checks, maintain logs and life safety equipment) ensuring safe operating standards are maintained and met. A valid Fireman's Certificate required.

The hours of work for this position are 7:00am - 4:00pm. A valid driver's license is required as you will be driving within the city and area and required to respond to after hours Securtek calls.

The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of building heating, cooling and ventilation systems; thorough working knowledge of the WHMIS program, superior interpersonal/public relations skills, and experience in working with computer software applications including; Microsoft (Outlook and Word), the Archibus program and the Building Management System, building maintenance and cleaning standards, procedures, techniques, products and equipment. You will also have the ability to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance and general cleaning and maintenance procedures on buildings and grounds; safely operate and maintain manual and powered grounds equipment.
