Work Arrangements available: Part-time (Must be available for 15-25 hours per week, some of which must be during regular business hours in the eastern time zone, and including Mondays for payroll processing)

Young Associates partners with clients to unify their records keeping and management functions into processes that result in sound decision making, well-supported by accurate and timely reports. THE ROLE
Payroll Specialists work within a standardized framework to complete the full payroll cycle including processing net pays, group benefits and pension administration, reconciliations, and year-end filings. They demonstrate expertise on multi-provincial ESA-related HR matters and have a talent for managing the relationship for their assigned clients. Our clients are mostly based in the GTA, but we work 100% remotely!
Tasks include processing net pays, making calculations related to raises, bonuses and retro pay, processing new hires and terminations, issuing ROEs, processing taxable benefits and deductions, group benefits administration, pension administration, WCB administration, and client management.
WHAT YOU BRING
We’re looking for an enthusiastic team member who is conscientious and takes pride in their work. As a team, we value efficient, reliable work backed up by strong knowledge of Canadian payroll compliance and legislation. In our client relationships, we prioritize a collaborative and ethical approach.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:
- We’re looking for an aptitude for and commitment to this type of work, demonstrated by payroll work history.
- We provide training on our specific clients, but we expect you to walk through the door with a working knowledge of computerized payroll systems evidenced by employment history and/or completed courses using one or more apps (e.g. Wagepoint, Ceridian, ADP).
- We expect you to have a thorough understanding of Canadian payroll legislation.
- We expect intermediate knowledge of Excel, including LOOKUPs, pivot tables, and IF functions.

- You are an excellent communicator and you enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise. Cultivating lasting client relationships is a big part of this job. It’s more than just deskwork! We’re looking for demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.

- You must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an asset.
