Ashwood Glen School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic School Lunch Supervisor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and positive school environment.
The Lunch Supervisor plays an important role in ensuring students have a safe and enjoyable lunch period while promoting respectful behaviour, independence, and positive social interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students during lunch periods in classrooms, the cafeteria, and outdoor play areas.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
- Encourage respectful behaviour, positive social interactions, and adherence to school expectations.
- Assist younger students with opening lunch containers and other age-appropriate needs while promoting independence.
- Monitor students for allergies and follow school health and safety procedures.
- Communicate any behavioural, health, or safety concerns to school administration and teaching staff.
- Help maintain a clean and organized lunch environment.
- Support smooth transitions between lunch, recess, and classroom activities.
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere for all students.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or recreational setting is an asset.
- Patient, caring, and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise groups of children while maintaining a calm and positive environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to employment.
