Job Summary & Role Purpose:
K2 Fasteners, a leading supplier of stainless steel and specialized fasteners, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager for our Burnaby location. The Warehouse Manager will lead a dedicated team, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of all warehouse operations, including picking, packing, receiving, and storing of products. This role is crucial for maintaining our high standards of customer service and supporting our sales teams across Canada. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to drive productivity and organization within a very busy warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments to meet delivery requirements for sales departments and branch transfers.
- Verify descriptions and quantities of shipments to minimize errors and ensure accuracy.
- Utilize warehouse management system for pallet rack storage and bin stocks.
- Develop and implement systems to manage inbound and outbound products throughout the warehouse facility, utilizing methodologies such as Kanban Kaizen and Lean principles.
- Direct and coordinate all warehouse and inventory control activities to achieve safe, efficient, and economical storage, handling, and distribution.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor the warehouse team involved in shipping, receiving, processing, and checking shipments.
- Manage time off requests.
- Manage performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and guidance to ensure maximum productivity.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Implement and oversee preventative maintenance best practices to ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Ensure a safe workplace environment, planning and monitoring safety regulations and procedures.
- Purchase and manage shipping supplies inventory.
- Maintain accurate location charts for efficient warehouse operations.
- Maintain a clear line of communication with sales staff in Burnaby, and branch managers across Canada.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years in a management position within a warehouse facility.
- Fastener product knowledge. Alloys, specifications, descriptions, and sizes.
- Forklift, reach truck, order picker, and fall arrest training certifications.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Proven experience with advanced warehouse management systems and inventory tracking systems.
- Ability to multitask and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new software (Adagio).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Kanban, Leand and Kaizen is highly desirable.
- CL1 LC1 – Electric Motor Counterbalanced Stand-Up Forklift, preferred.
- CL1 LC4 – Electric Motor Counterbalanced 4 Wheel Sit-Down Forklift, preferred.
- CL2 LC2 – Electric Motor Narrow Aisle Order Picker, preferred.
- CL2 LC3 – Electric Motor Narrow Aisle Reach Truck, preferred.
- Fall Arrest For Mobile Equipment, preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
