Part-Time Kitchen Prep Staff (1 Position Available)
Wage: $17/hour
Hours: 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM (10–15 hours per week)
Employment Period: Immediate – September 30
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing ingredients for the following day's production (washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing)
- Assisting with onigiri preparation and other menu components according to Yama Onigiri's recipes and quality standards
- Occasionally assisting with wrapping and labeling onigiri produced during the evening production shift
- Labeling, storing, and rotating ingredients using FIFO principles
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas
- Restocking supplies and preparing the kitchen for the next day's service
- Following food safety and sanitation procedures at all times
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and product consistency
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
