First Gulf is seeking an experienced Building Operator to join our team in Toronto!
Key Responsibilities:
- Installing, repairing and maintaining all electrical, mechanical and life-safety systems within the assigned office asset(s).
- Overseeing preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs of plumbing, lighting, elevating devices, parking and roofing systems.
- Performing mandatory Fire safety Maintenance duties, keeping records of testing
- Attending daytime and after-hours emergencies with urgency and care.
- Performing general maintenance and housekeeping such as sweeping, litter pick up, shoveling and pressure washing.
- Assisting with environmental assessments and reporting.
- Participating in corporate occupational health and safety programs.
- Assisting with waste, recycling and hazardous material storage, disposal and reporting.
- Understanding and monitoring computerized building control systems.
- Responding to tenant service requests with care within the established procedures and time frames.
- Assisting with emergency preparedness, response and action plans, as required.
- Assisting with insurance and risk management inspections, remedial actions and reporting.
- Remaining current and up to date with new industry practices, legislative changes and new technologies.
- Embracing and proactively supporting the company’s culture of environmental and social responsibility.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve energy use and efficiency.
- Responding to and managing environmental hazards.
- Considering sustainability when evaluating options for equipment replacement.
- Participating in tenant and staff community support events, as appropriate.
- Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:
- University Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical and/or BES
- Technical Certificate or Journeyman Certificate an asset but not requirement
- 2-5 years of experience in building maintenance
- A valid driver license
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office
- Flexibility to meet tight deadlines, requiring additional hours as necessary
