Maintaining a high level of performance to ensure a positive guest experience is the essential responsibility of the Children's Show Host. Adhering to all responsibilities as listed in the position description and the performer’s contract.
Maintain the show’s standards at the highest level by keeping assigned “tracks” at the performance quality at which the show was first directed
Maintain costume, hair style, hair colour, weight and make up application as set during the rehearsal period and as outlined in your appearance rider
Take proper care of all assigned props and costumes and before each use, ensure that props operate safely and look appropriate
When pre-setting costumes before each performance, check costumes for maintenance and appearance issues. If a prop or costume requires maintenance or repair notify the supervisor immediately.
Performance duties will include pre-set checks and resetting of all personal costumes in between shows
Daily participation in both vocal and physical warm-ups is mandatory
Maintain at all times a positive rapport with all guests and employees in the Park, whether it is during a performance, or during a personal encounter while out in the Park
Abide by all Canada’s Wonderland policies and procedures as set out by the Park and the Entertainment Department. Specific policies and procedures are outlined in the Park Associate and Facility Handbooks
Ensure that all safety standards and practices are met
Perform all duties as assigned by Leads, Captains, or Entertainment Management. Daily duties will include but, not be limited to the cleaning of the break room, associated backstage areas, clean-up rehearsals, meetings and “Notes” sessions
Use all means at his/her disposal to promote a positive spirit of unity within the department
Assist with other duties as required
The Children's Show Host must pass all Audition Requirements
Minimum of 15 years of age
Able to work flexible shifts including on weekends and holidays
