We are looking for a Sheet Metal Lead Hand with a minimum of 5 years of experience. We offer safe worksites, educational training on the job as well as opportunities for advancement.
Successful applicants will be responsible for the following:
- Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for equipment, sheet metal and related materials.
- Review shop drawings and produce field sketches used in fabrication and erection.
- Identify required tools and special equipment.
- Fabrication, assemble, handle, erect, install, dismantle, recondition, adjust, alter, repair and/or service all ferrous and nonferrous sheet metal work.
- Locate and mark positions for connections and equipment.
- Install supports and hangers for ducts, accessories, and equipment.
- Fabricates or installs metal cladding over insulation.
- Welding, cutting, rigging, and hoisting.
- Installation of Air Handling Units, Air Conditioning Units, Supply and Exhaust Fans, VAV’s, Heat Recovery Units and associated appurtenances.
- Installation of Odor Control Units and associated ducting systems.
- Test and balance air and hydronic systems.
- Working in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Legislation and Kenaidan's Environmental, Health & Safety Policies and Procedures in daily operations.
- Other tasks as required.
Skill Requirements:
- Sheet Metal Red Seal Trade Certificate
- 5-10 years industry experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Motivated to learn and contribute positively to the team.
- Able to conduct oneself in public professionally and courteously.
- Punctual, reliable and accountable.
- Opportunity/flexibility to cross between plumbing, pipefitting, and millwrighting work
- Ontario Gas Technician 2 Certification would be an asset.
- Ontario Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Certification would be an asset.
- Current drivers license.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work full time and outside of regular hours as required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outside in all types of weather.
- Site-based position.
- Use of personal protective equipment (i.e. hard hat, safety boots) required.
