In architecture and interior design, branded environments extend to the design of interior and/or exterior spaces. It uses the organization’s brand or distinguishing characteristics in names, symbols, and designs to create a “band space”. This can be achieved through architectural design, interior design, lighting, graphics, and landscape.

Branded environments can include environmental graphics, wayfinding, and finish materials in an effort to leverage the client’s identity and key messages.

The successful candidate will have experience working in the branded environments space in an architectural firm or interior design firm or will be one who has education in either of these areas as well as graphic design.

Position Summary:
Design lead, charged with leading cross-disciplinary engagements for 2D & 3D design solutions. Responsible for presenting design work to clients and senior leadership, as well as mentoring/managing junior staff.

Applies advanced design and technical methods for the production of environmental graphics and design elements, with responsibility for project assignments including production and coordination through construction/fabrication documents which may be multiple, large or complex in scope.

Essential Job Functions:
DESIGN

Demonstrates understanding of the Environmental design process with the ability to contribute to the production of design element components.
Developed branding, identity, environmental and experiential programs for a variety of prestigious cultural, civic and commercial projects.

Researches design production methodologies.
Develops, prepares, and coordinates presentation materials with project team members.
Facilitates firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, social responsibility, and sustainability.
TECHNICAL

Demonstrates expertise with paper selection, print/production processes, 3D applications, etc.
Supervises and manages the pre-production and production processes of various types of projects through site visits, press checks, etc.
Researches and gathers information for estimating purposes.
Performs tasks according to Perkins+Will Project Delivery Manual.
Solutions may be executed as both graphic enhancements and communications materials.
MANAGEMENT

Coordinating with consultants and fabricators and keeping projects organized and on track with budget and schedule.
Performs within constraints of project budgets and schedules.
Project documentation from concept through detailed construction drawings; integrating designs with the Architecture team

May mentor and manage junior team members.
Responsible/accountable for assigned deliverables and deadlines.
Job Requirements

Degree in Graphic Design.
3-5 years' experience in a related role
Experience in architecture or interior design is preferred and is an asset.
Demonstrates competency and experience in all phases of Branded Environments design.
Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe suite software; Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook; presentation software such as PowerPoint; CAD, 3D computer modeling and other graphic design modeling software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Collaborative and professional work ethic.
LEED GA or within 6 months of hire.
