Contemporary Computer is a boutique IT Management and Solution provider in Toronto’s East End. We specialize in managed business IT, data recovery and consulting. We perform direct and white label services throughout the greater Toronto area and we are looking for skilled individuals who want a challenge and like working with new and different problems and technologies on our team.
High level of comfort with Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 usage and internals – passing level of expertise is not acceptable registry, key functionality and functional locations such as startup, local vs machine keys, service keys etc repair, virus scanning and removal, registry driver and service-based targeting setup: printing, scanning, remote desktop file and sharing, ACLs and security
Standard applications MS Office
Antivirus applications such as Webroot, Kaspersky
General PC build experience preferred but not necessary knowledge of server technologies preferred
Knowledge of Virtualization and Cloud Technologies Preferred
Amazon Storage and Virtualization, MS Azure
Experience in MS Hyper-V a major asset, also backup technologies such as Cloudberry and Veeam
Mac knowledge preferred
Knowledge of computer networking
Should be able to configure any standard consumer, SOHO or business grade router via GUI
SonicWALL, Cisco / Cisco Meraki, Juniper, Unifi experience a plus but not required
Knowledge of IPv4, VLANs, basic subnetting required
Ability to create standard network cables
Cat5/cat6, punch downs, crimping
Experience with RJ11 and RG9 / coax preferred
Experience with wire running preferred
Ability to competently go on site to businesses in the Toronto area
Driver’s license required, access to vehicle
Must pass criminal background check

Flexible hours available – some work from home hours available; after hours and weekend and evening hours available; some Saturday or Sunday shifts may be required once or twice per month
