Duties
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging equipment to assist with drainage installation and earth-moving tasks
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, repair, or modify drainage systems and related infrastructure
- Assist with trenching, digging, and material placement for agricultural drainage projects
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment including welding repairs when necessary
- Perform site inspections to ensure safety standards are met during construction activities
- Collaborate with team members to complete project tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate or learn heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation tools
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and rigging procedures
- Standing, walking most of the day, kneeling, squatting, using a ladder, climbing and operating hand tools, etc.
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation or construction projects preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Strong work ethic with the willingness to learn new skills in agriculture drainage and construction environments
- Good communication skills and ability to work safely in outdoor settings under varying weather conditions
- Positive attitude, ability to learn, follow instructions and show up on time every day to work
- High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education & experience
- Travel may be required with some overnight stays. Hotel is paid for & per diem for each day employee travels
- Working long days in inclemate weather
- Valid driver's license / Class 3 an asset
