What you'll be doing
As a member of CIBC’s Client Account Management, Business Intelligence team, you'll advance business intelligence by delivering actionable insights through data analysis. You'll leverage analytical techniques such as pattern recognition, data mining, and data storytelling to equip senior management with information for informed decision-making. Your responsibilities include providing data-driven insights, translating business requirements into effective dashboards, recommending improvements across key performance indicators, and conducting in-depth analysis to resolve data issues. You'll work independently to research analytics industry best practices, recommend enhancements and automation, and standardize data processes to drive strategic value for the department.

How you'll succeed
Business Intelligence - Identify insights and make recommendations based on data analysis to enhance business decision-making.
Strategic Thinking Approach - Drive, manage, and execute data and reporting projects and initiatives in alignment with CIBC’s strategy, supporting business goals, objectives , and key performance indicators. Demonstrate the ability to think strategically, recognize early patterns in data enhancements and automation, and deliver strategic change across the enterprise.
Relationship Management - Manage relationships between Data & Reporting and various partners across the bank, with a strong focus on client experience and collaborative success. Build internal and external relationships as needed to ensure we provide the right level of service to our leadership team and business partners.
Communication - Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate ideas and opinions, including those involving analysis, processes, and technology solutions to audiences with diverse backgrounds. Produce a variety of business presentations and documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation.
Values, Integrity, and Trust - Demonstrate unwavering integrity and a commitment to ethical conduct in all interactions. Foster a culture of trust and accountability by consistently upholding CIBC’s values and acting with transparency and respect.
Reporting - Oversee the delivery of new reports and conduct thorough analysis to ensure data accuracy and timeliness. Support the tracking and communication of performance metrics.
Who you are
Risk or Collections Professional. You bring over 3 years of experience in credit risk or collections or possess a minimum of 5 years of business intelligence expertise within the banking sector or a leading financial institution.
Technical Proficiency. Skilled in programming languages such as SQL, PySpark , and Python, with hands-on experience using analytical tools including SAS, Databricks, Alteryx, as well as visualization and automation platforms like Power BI and Power Apps.
Problem Solver. You demonstrate exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a proven track record of independently identifying and analyzing business challenges and recommending effective solutions.
Certifications as an Asset. Certifications in Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate, Databricks Developer for Apache Spark, or Databricks Data Engineer are considered valuable assets.
Outstanding Communication Skills. Y ou excel at producing clear, concise business documents and can effectively communicate verbally, adapting your tone, style, and structure to suit your audience.
