Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team. This role involves preparing high-quality meat products for retail and wholesale customers, ensuring all items meet safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in food handling, butchery, and food preparation, with a strong commitment to food safety and customer service. Duties
- Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specifications and customer requests
- Ensure all meat products are properly packaged, labeled, and stored in compliance with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of low supplies
- Follow all safety guidelines related to meat handling and equipment operation
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering product recommendations when needed
- Adhere to food safety protocols throughout the entire food preparation process
- Support team members in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the food industry, especially in butchery or meat cutting, is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- Ability to perform precise meat cutting and preparation tasks efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Kitchen experience or background in food preparation is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required for the role
- Food industry certifications or training related to food safety is a plus
