Operations Specialist

Keyera is currently seeking an Operations Specialist for our

growing Fort Saskatchewan Facility in Fort Saskatchewan,

Alberta. This exciting role will support the day to day operations

of the facility in concert with the Operations Supervisor.


  • Assist in coordinating all activities in conjunction with
Operation Supervisor, Operations Maintenance Coordinator,

and Operations Personnel.

  • Responsible for daily product quality from the facilities and

  • Work hand in hand with the Product Quality Specialist to
ensure we are meeting our customers needs in the area.

  • Assist operations in troubleshooting plant / field issues.
  • Assist Operations and DCS groups with alarm management

  • Coordinate methods to ensure metering issues are identified
and addressed in a timely manner.

  • Develop and maintain systems to track and report product
quality testing results and Frequency of testing.

  • Assist operations and cavern specialists in facility
management of cavern and brine inventories.

  • Assist with Project coordination.
  • Assist with Outage and Turnaround activities.
  • Review plant efficiency parameters and implement ideas for

  • Review and help develop LOTO packages.

Keyera’s Fort Saskatchewan facilities

include an NGL processing plant, storage

facilities and four pipelines connecting to

the Edmonton Terminal. The NGL

processing plant receives NGL feedstock

from various sources and splits the NGL

mix into saleable products. The storage

facilities consist of underground storage

caverns and surface storage that holds

NGL mix feedstock and specification

NGLs. The pipeline system transports

NGL mix to the Fort Saskatchewan

facilities and saleable specification NGLs

from these facilities, as well as other NGL

processing and storage facilities in the

area, to the Edmonton Terminal for

distribution to markets and export rail,

truck and pipelines.




The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic,

and service oriented with the following qualifications:
  • 3rd Class Inter-provincial steam ticket is a strong asset. The
right individual must be willing to obtain if not in possession

at time of employment.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in NGL/ Gas Plant
operations is required.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with panel operations,
including DCS and/or PLC systems.

  • Experience with quality control sampling equipment (i.e.
manual/composite samplers & chromatographs).

  • Problem solving, troubleshooting and failure
analysis/investigation skills.

  • Self-starter who is able to work independently with a
minimum of supervision.

  • Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail
and proven trouble shooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
