Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Welding Equipment Repair Technician to join our industrial maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining welding machinery and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep manufacturing operations running smoothly, minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer specifications to perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, adjustment, and testing of welding equipment, cobots, and robotic welding systems.
- Inspect and test welding equipment, cobot and robotic welding systems, components, and accessories to identify mechanical wear, electrical faults, damaged parts, malfunctions, and other operating deficiencies.
- Use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments to disassemble, assemble, install, align, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair welding equipment.
- Troubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair welding equipment and accessories, including welding power sources, wire feeders, guns, torches, cables, regulators, gas systems, cooling units, control panels, and robotic/cobot welding components. Troubleshoot and repair welding systems, including robotic arms, controllers, welding cells, sensors, positioners, torches, wire feeders, safety devices, and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
- Diagnose equipment and system failures through operational tests, electrical and mechanical inspections, measurements, and component testing; repair, replace, or adjust defective components as required.
- Operate machine tools and shop equipment to fabricate, modify, or restore parts required for welding equipment, cobot, and robotic system repair, overhaul, maintenance, and setup.
- Perform cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, preventive maintenance, and corrective servicing of welding equipment and related accessories to maintain reliable operation and minimize downtime.
- Assemble, install, connect, align, level, calibrate, and test welding equipment, following manufacturer specifications, applicable national and international standards, and workplace safety requirements.
- Test repaired welding equipment under operating conditions to verify proper mechanical, electrical, control, and welding performance before returning them to service.
- Identify and report defective, damaged, or unsafe equipment and components; recommend corrective actions, repairs, or replacement of parts and maintain records of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, testing, and equipment performance.
Skills
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of low voltage systems and schematics interpretation.
- Proficiency in industrial electrician techniques and troubleshooting complex machinery.
- Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for automation diagnostics.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance planning and record keeping.
- Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing issues quickly and implementing effective solutions.
- Customer service mindset with clear communication skills in English for collaborating across teams and documenting work thoroughly.
