Job Summary:
Fenelon Falls Brewing Co restaurant is seeking a passionate and talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and meets high-quality standards. Responsibilities include overseeing kitchen operations, assisting in menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining food quality and consistency. The ideal candidate should have a strong culinary background, leadership skills, and a dedication to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist the Head Chef in creating and executing menu items
- Supervise and train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food safety procedures
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation
- Manage kitchen inventory and control food costs
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and menu concepts
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fine dining restaurant
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a team under pressure
- Creative and innovative approach to cooking
**Additional Requirements:**
- Food handler's certification
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools
