Key Responsibilities
The Journeyman Natural Gas Technician will be responsible for providing high standard field service support to customers; troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing natural gas engines and compressors.
Additional related duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and managing the day-to-day operation of a field service truck
- Performing preventative maintenance
- Reading and interpreting manufacturer equipment manuals
- Following Crossfire Compression health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Participating in an on-call rotation
- Being organized and completing all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
- Overtime will be required
Qualifications
- Journeyman Natural Gas Compression Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician or Millwright certification
- Knowledge within the Compression industry operating a Field Service Truck
- Have thorough knowledge of natural gas engines and compressors
- Possess strong customer service and communication skills
- Possess excellent analytical, diagnostic and trouble shooting skills
- Be reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to contend with the demanding schedule of field service work
- Valid class 5 driver’s license, with acceptable drivers abstract
- Valid Safety Tickets
- Experience with Waukesha, Caterpillar, White Superior, and various other small engines and Ariel, Frick and Sullair compressors is an asset
- Knowledge of various pumps: Centrifugal, progressive cavity, plungen and piston pumps, and mechanical seals
- Experience/working knowledge of air compressors and air dryer systems
Salary Scale: Based on Experience
Work Schedule: Based on a 14 day shift, 9 days on and 5 days off, working every second weekend.
