Basic Function and Scope:

As a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating, performing and evaluating diagnostic imaging services based on the standards of practice for Medical Radiation Technologists. The scope of services will be in keeping with the incumbent’s certification and the Scope of Practice of the College for Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists in Ontario (CMRITO).

Area of Assignment: All Departments-Diagnostic Imaging and CT; with option of mammography and/or BMD, dependent on training.

Hours of Work:

Rotating shifts in the unit as required, as well as, on-call responsibilities.

Pay Rate:

$36.19-$48.53

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Successful completion of a Medical Radiation Technology Program.

Registration

Current C.M.R.I.T.O registration mandatory.

Membership

Membership with CAMRT is an asset.

Experience

Previous hospital experience is an asset.
Multimodality experience is preferred.
CTIC Preferred.

Required Skills

Excellent customer service skills with sensitivity to the needs of multicultural clientele;
Capable of working independently;
Evidence of ongoing education;
Working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems and Microsoft Office;
Ability to prioritize urgent care needs and work as a member of a team to support efficient workflow within the department and with other departments within the hospital;
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients and families) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and completing relevant mandatory education as required;
Ability to provide on-call services with a reporting time of 60 minutes;
Must have annual review education completed;
Must have a previous good performance and attendance record.
