Kapital Solutions is a Canadian online payment processing company that has developed its own proprietary software platform, which handles online transactions. The company is continuing to grow and innovate in the online payment space and is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to support the compliance department.
Job Overview
The role is critical in ensuring that the company operates in a secure and compliant manner and that its risks are effectively managed.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess potential risks in the company's operations, products, services, and systems.
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of risk management strategies and make recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas of vulnerability and implement appropriate controls.
- Develop and maintain risk management reports, dashboards, and metrics to track and communicate risk management activities and outcomes.
- Provide training and support to employees on risk management policies and procedures.
- Continuously monitor the effectiveness of risk management strategies and evaluate emerging risks.
- Keep track of relevant industry trends, regulatory changes, and internal developments that may impact the organization's risk profile.
- Work closely with senior management, finance, operations, compliance, and legal teams to understand business objectives, develop risk management strategies, and ensure effective implementation.
In addition to the above responsibilities, a risk management professional in fintech may also be expected to have knowledge of financial products and services, as well as experience with data analysis and modeling. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are also essential for this role.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field. Graduate degree in business administration or risk management a plus.
- At least 6years of experience in risk management, preferably in the financial services industry or a related field. Fintech experience is a desirable.
- A strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management frameworks such as COSO, ISO, and NIST is usually required.
- Candidates should have strong analytical skills and be able to interpret complex data and information to identify risks and recommend solutions.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, programming languages such as Python, R or SAS, and database management systems such as SQL is often required.
- Certifications, such as the Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) may be preferred.
