Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Automotive Service Technician or 3rd or 4th year apprentice to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment. This role involves performing a wide range of repairs and services on various vehicle makes and models, ensuring customer safety and satisfaction. The technician will utilize their mechanical expertise, hand tools, power tools, and schematics to diagnose issues accurately and execute repairs to high standards. A commitment to quality work, safety protocols, and excellent customer service is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and diagnostics using schematics and specialized tools
- Perform repairs including engine work, brake services, suspension, transmission, and electrical systems
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs
- Follow manufacturer specifications and safety procedures during all maintenance activities
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides for accurate troubleshooting
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle
- Ensure all work meets dealership quality standards and customer expectations
- Support team members with mechanical knowledge and best practices for vehicle repair
Experience
- Prior dealership experience is highly preferred
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems
- Knowledge of welding, assembly, and general maintenance procedures in automotive repair
- Familiarity with schematics, diagnostic tools, and electronic testing equipment
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting required for certain repairs
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs needed or completed
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
