About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a long-term, full-time permanent opportunity in an advanced automotive manufacturing environment. This role involves the fabrication, modification, and repair of custom tooling, fixtures, jigs, and precision components used in production equipment.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in CNC programming, setup, and precision machining, with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work closely with Engineering and Maintenance teams. This position offers long-term stability and potential career growth into CNC Programming, Tool & Die, or Advanced Manufacturing roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Tooling & Fixture Fabrication
- Manufacture custom tooling, fixtures, jigs, and prototype components
- Modify and repair existing tooling to improve performance and reliability
- Collaborate with Engineering to improve manufacturability and design
CNC Programming & Machining
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models
- Program and operate CNC milling, turning, drilling, boring, and grinding machines
- Use CAD/CAM software (Autodesk Inventor experience required)
- Perform precision machining for custom, non-repetitive parts
Quality & Inspection
- Inspect machined components using precision measurement tools
- Ensure all parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards
- Identify and report deviations from specifications
Machine Support & Maintenance
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment
- Assist with tooling inventory and tool life optimization
- Support troubleshooting of machining and fixture issues
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Recommend design and process improvements
- Support new product launches and equipment integration
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with tooling and custom fixture machining
- Proficiency in CNC programming and machine setup
- Experience with AutoCAD / Autodesk Inventor or equivalent CAD software
- Familiarity with Fanuc or Mitsubishi controls preferred
- Strong ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- High attention to detail and quality standards
