Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Liquor Store Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, manage sales transactions efficiently, and maintain an organized store environment. This role is vital in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers while adhering to all legal and safety regulations related to alcohol sales.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products, offering knowledgeable recommendations when appropriate
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments
- Maintain proper identification checks to ensure legal alcohol sale compliance
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and manage merchandising to create an appealing shopping environment
- Promote featured items and upsell additional products
- Handle inquiries or complaints professionally via phone or in person, providing excellent communication and customer service skills
- Manage inventory levels, report discrepancies, and assist with stock rotation to ensure product freshness and availability
- Uphold store cleanliness, safety standards, and adherence to all legal regulations regarding alcohol sales
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers
- Experience with retail sales, merchandising, POS systems, and cash handling procedures
- Basic math skills for accurate cash register operation and transaction processing
- Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
- Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy hours
- Organizational skills for maintaining neat displays and managing stock levels
- Knowledge of alcohol regulations and responsible sales practices is preferred but not required; necessary training will be provided
