The Job Opportunity
Due to continuous growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic & self-driven People Officer to join our Global People Team supporting our people operations in Canada.
As a key member of our team, you will report to the People Manager and will be actively involved in almost all areas of HR Cycle including employee relations, staffing, performance management, learning & development, compensation & benefits, implementation of policies & procedures, employment law compliance. Alongside day-to -day people operations, there will be plenty of exciting opportunities taking part in projects and initiatives that foster a positive culture and an engaging work environment. You will also work closely with Line managers providing guidance and consultation on people related issues and ensuring the delivery of quality services to all stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage onboarding process for new employees and coordinate induction plan to ensure a positive experience for new joiners. Run offboarding process including exit interviews.
- Maintain our HRIS (BambooHR) ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
- Manage all employees’ records preparing all required documents like employment contracts, addendum letters, verification letters including but not limited to Records of Employment (ROEs), in compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
- Act as the first point of contact for employees’ queries and requests ensuring timely and accurate information is provided and escalated if needed.
- Assist in full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate pre-screening, interview scheduling, and conducting background/reference checks.
- Review and update policies & procedures in alignment with legal requirements and provide employees guidance to ensure effective implementation.
- Organize learning & development activities including delivering induction training to new joiners.
- Support in the implementation of performance management process.
- Assist in bi-weekly payroll process providing payroll-related information and required documentation to payroll team in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support in the implementation and administration of employees’ benefits and perks.
- Organize corporate, team events as well employee engagement activities including driving DEI & well-being initiatives.
- Review HR metrics and prepare reports as required.
- Collaborate and support on ad-hoc HR projects as may be required from time to time.
- Ensure continuous updates and compliance with local employment law.
Qualifications / Skills/ Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is desirable.
- Good knowledge of key People processes, roles, and responsibilities across the entire People lifecycle.
- Knowledge of ESA and other applicable laws.
- 2-4 years’ experience in Human Resources generalist role in Canada. Experience in different Canadian provinces (BC, AB, ON) is a strong asset.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with HRIS systems (e.g. BambooHR) will be a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interact effectively and build positive relationships at all levels.
- A curious mindset and proactive problem-solving orientation as well as keen to propose ideas and take initiatives.
- Highly organised and structured with a keen attention to detail. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Team player with a customer-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate effectively across diverse groups of people.
- Ability to operate with autonomy with respect to day-to-day tasks
- Demonstrated ability to act with empathy & discretion.
