Position Summary -
(On-call/Part-time position)
Truly Green Farms is seeking a reliable and responsible Part-Time Driver to support our transportation needs. This role is a vital link between our offsite worker housing and greenhouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting workers and assisting with various transportation and facility support tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid G-Class (G) Driver’s License (Ontario)
- Clean driving abstract and clear record
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
- Understanding of multicultural environments
- Experience driving a van
- People living in Chatham will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Shuttle Duties
- Safely transport offsite-housing workers to and from the greenhouse daily
- Ensure workers arrive at least 15 minutes prior to shift start time
- Return workers to housing at the end of each shift
- Transport workers to grocery stores according to schedule
- Provide transportation for workers to hospital appointments, government services, and the airport as needed, both within Chatham and to other cities in Ontario
- Provide shuttle between Truly Green Farms and Cedarline Greenhouses as required
- Able to work on weekends as well.
Note: Start and end times may fluctuate depending on season, production levels, and workload.
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
- Follow all safety requirements to operate the vehicle
- Complete inspection logs and maintain accurate documentation
- Monitor fuel levels and coordinate repairs as necessary
- Follow normal scheduled maintenance procedures
- Start vehicle early when required to allow proper warm-up in cold weather
