Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Childcare Program Director to support the daily operations of our rural early childhood education center. This role is vital in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while assisting in program management and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, administrative training, and experience in a supervisory or leadership position. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to children's development and learning.
Responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day management and operations of the childcare programs
- Support program staff in managing daily routines and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all children.
- Assist with organization & maintaining confidential files
- Assisting in leading, mentoring & evaluating program staff
- Supervise and mentor staff to maintain high-quality care and safety standards.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress and address individual needs.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and program policies.
- Help coordinate community events, staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance program quality.
- Assist in managing classroom supplies, equipment, and materials to support effective learning experiences.
- Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Program Director
Requirements
- Level 3 Early Childhood Education Certificate
- Current First-Aid & CPR-C (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory position
- Prior experience working with children in an childcare setting and knowledge in Early Childhood Development is preferred
- Knowledge of Alberta Childcare Licensing Regulations & AHS Regulations is preferred.
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
- Compassionate caregiver with excellent communication skills.

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
