Human Resources Associate

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the Human Resources Associate is primarily responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to the HR department across the full spectrum of HR competencies including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leaves, compensation, and terminations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort and organize the Human Resources inbox and ensure emails are responded in a timely manner
- Support the recruiting and onboarding process of new hires
- Provide Employment Verification Letters upon request
- Provide support to the HR Generalist and Talent Acquisition teams as needed
- Administer the workflow for all employee changes (i.e., new hires, departures, internal transfers)
- Conduct exit interviews in a respectful and professional manner
- Update and maintain employee files, the internal organization charts, and other documents
- Respond to benefit and leave related inquiries and assist employees in a timely manner
- Prepare Human Resources reports as required
- Support Human Resources related surveys (i.e., engagement, DEI, compensation)
- Maintain client and corporate information confidentiality
- Maintain current knowledge of provincial legislation relating to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Workplace Health and Safety, and Labour Laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of administrative experience in a fast-paced work environment, ideally as part of an HR team
- Undergraduate degree or diploma, preferably in a related field and/or relevant work experience in a similar role
- Working towards a designation as a Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR)
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook)
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is an assetStrong written and verbal communication ability with excellent interpersonal skills and judgement
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure, dealing with changes and interruptions while maintaining strict deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly and use them effectively and efficiently
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills with a proven track record of being responsive, meeting deadlines and performing to measurable outcomes
- Effective prioritization and problem-solving skills
