Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and working in a matrix team environment, the incumbent, as a strategic partner to our College clients, implements and administers Human Resources best practices relevant to client group organizational goals in College recruitment and selection, employment services, HRMS data maintenance, salary and benefits administration, employee relations, disability management and other related human resources functions for administrative, academic and support groups. Participates in the ongoing review and improvement of leading practices, processes and procedures. Provides guidance, information and training for managers and staff as required. Provides a range of strategic, advanced, confidential and professional human resources services, responds to inquiries, prepares a variety of lists and reports, responds to surveys, ensures sound advice and ensures compliance with Collective Agreements and legislation. Participates in human resources projects and initiatives.


Our team is seeking a well-organized, confident Human Resources Consultant to provide advice, guidance, and operational support and administration for identified client groups in a busy environment. A three-year diploma/degree in Human Resources is required. A professional Human Resources designation (CHRP/CHRL) will be preferred. A minimum of five years of practical, progressively responsible experience in human resources consultation and administration in a variety of HR disciplines will be preferred, including in recruitment and selection, job design, salary/benefits administration as well as experience working with collective agreements in a unionized environment. We are particularly seeking strong applied experience in pay and benefits administration along with strong proficiency with a variety of computer applications including a web-based HRMS/HRIS system (PeopleSoft desirable). Demonstrated experience and agility with software systems in general, especially Excel, will be preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and collaborator with excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building skills and an approach that fosters strong teamwork, integrity, diplomacy and client-service orientation skills. The candidates must thrive in an environment where handling a fast-paced and large volume of work with competing priorities and multiple deadlines is typical. The Human Resources Consultant must be able to demonstrate, model and foster organizational values as evidenced in past employment.

Salary and Terms

In addition to the salary range of $59,740 - $74,675, the College offers a comprehensive benefits package.
