About Online Therapy Centre
Online Therapy Centre (OTC) is a growing mental-health organization providing accessible counselling and assessment services to individuals, families and organizations across Canada.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced counsellor or therapist to provide in-person counselling sessions in Whitehorse, Yukon. This is a flexible independent-contractor opportunity supported by OTC’s established administrative and referral infrastructure.
What OTC Provides
Our therapists can focus on providing excellent client care while our administrative team manages:
- Reception and client inquiries
- Advertising and referral generation
- Complimentary intake calls
- Client-to-therapist matching
- Appointment coordination
- Billing and payment processing
- Insurance and third-party submissions
- Administrative communication with clients and referral partners
- Electronic documentation and practice-management support
Responsibilities
- Provide confidential, evidence-informed counselling to individuals and, where qualified, couples or families
- Offer in-person appointments in Whitehorse
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and within required timelines
- Maintain professional boundaries and comply with all applicable ethical, privacy and practice standards
- Collaborate with OTC’s administrative and clinical teams when appropriate
- Participate in organizational, insurance-funded and third-party counselling programs based on qualifications and availability
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a master’s degree or other recognized professional qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology or social work
- Be registered and in good standing with an applicable Canadian regulatory body or professional college
- Be authorized to provide counselling or psychotherapy services in Yukon
- Maintain professional liability insurance
- Be available to provide in-person sessions in Whitehorse
- Have strong clinical documentation, communication and time-management skills
- Be comfortable working as an independent contractor
Assets
The following would be considered assets:
- Access to a private, professional office in Whitehorse that is appropriate for confidential counselling sessions
- Experience working with employee and family assistance programs, insurers or organizational referrals
- Training or experience in areas such as trauma, anxiety, depression, workplace concerns, relationships, grief, neurodiversity or stress-related conditions
- Experience supporting diverse populations
- Evening or weekend availability
Having your own office is preferred but not necessarily required. We may be able to assist with identifying suitable local space.
Compensation and Schedule
Compensation ranges from $50 to $100 per completed session. The applicable rate depends on the specific program or referring organization, as reimbursement rates vary among OTC’s partners.
The schedule is flexible and will be developed according to therapist availability and client demand.
