Job Overview
Looking for an apprentice to help with daily residential new home rough in's and ground works. In addition there is some renovation work as well as winter furnace and boiler trouble shooting and repair work. The bulk of this position is assisting a Journeyman in the rough in stage of the house and learning about the DWV system and how it works. This job involves early starts and work through out all weather conditions.
Duties
- Assist s with installing plumbing systems in residential
- Support the setup and use of hand tools, power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to understand project requirements
- Help with measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembling pipes and fixtures according to specifications
- Participate in routine maintenance tasks to ensure plumbing systems operate efficiently and safely
- Learn to identify issues within plumbing systems using basic math and schematics for troubleshooting
- Follow safety procedures diligently during all phases of work to prevent accidents or injuries
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of plumbing components and systems
- Basic carpentry skills for framing and supporting fixtures
- Familiarity with HVAC principles related to building climate control systems
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction and maintenance
- Construction experience or background is highly desirable
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting tasks
- Strong attention to detail in assembly and installation processes
- Commitment to safety protocols and maintenance procedures
