Summer Youth Employment Opportunity – On the Move Inc.
On the Move Inc. is hiring four summer students through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Please note:
- Individuals with a Social Insurance Number (SIN) starting with “9” are not eligible
- International students are not eligible for these positions
- Youth awaiting a refugee status decision or holding temporary visas (visitor, youth, or work visas) are also not eligible
Position Details:
- Duration: Approximately 11 weeks (June 22/26 – August 28/26 or Sept 4/26), with possible extension based on centre needs
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Shift Times: Between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8-hour shift with a 1-hour unpaid lunch)
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise children aged 16 months to 5 years (preschool) or 6 to 10 years (school-age program)
- Plan and implement engaging activities
- Assist staff with daily programming
- Perform light housekeeping duties
- Clean and sanitize toys and centre spaces
- Support children’s development in a safe and structured environment
Requirements (prior to start date):
- Criminal Record Check
- Child Abuse Registry Check
- First Aid & CPR Certification
Assets:
- Experience in education, childcare, or working with children
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $17.00-$19.97 per hour
