Position
Scholars Education Centre Calgary West is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Part-time High School Science Teacher/Tutor to join our dynamic team. As a teacher at Scholars, you will have the opportunity to positively impact students, both personally and academically. We take pride in delivering proven results for our students. Our teachers play a key role in this journey. The successful candidate will be trained to our standards and teaching methodology.
Location
The chosen candidate will provide tutoring services at the Scholars Calgary West Location. Opportunities may exist to provide tutoring services online.
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Alberta Certified Teachers or candidates working towards their teaching certification are preferred.
- Must be able to teach all elements of the Alberta Biology, Chemistry or Physics Curriculum up to and including the grade 12 level.
- Previous experience working with students in a tutoring environment is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written skills in English.
- Have a passion to help students reach their potential.
- Exceptionally organized and meticulous for attention to detail.
- Ability to teach in a 2:1 ratio.
- Teachers who are qualified and competent to teach multiple subjects are preferred.
Candidates must be able to work a minimum of two shifts per week.

Scholars Education Centre is committed to ensuring the safety of its students, parents, tutors and visitors. Additional safety protocols have been implemented to ensure that we can offer a safe in-centre tutoring experience including:
- Utilizing glass dividers at all teaching tables to separate students and teachers.
- Using masks when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
- Increased sanitation procedures.
Part-time hours: 3-8 per week

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
