Do you have any experience or degree in computer science, data science, statistics or mathematics? The Mustard Seed is seeking a Quantitative Data Analyst. The Data Analyst will be part of a small team of data professionals, tasked with maintaining and optimizing the systems, processes, and outputs involving client data, derived from The Mustard Seed programs and services. The primary duties of the Data Analyst will be to collect, preprocess, and report program data as performance metrics through a variety of deliverables, such as Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports. These duties are crucial for maintaining donation transparency, accurately reporting results to funders, highlighting community impact, and uncovering operational insights. The successful candidate should possess a solid understanding of data analytics, technical skills in statistical computation and visualization techniques, and professional qualities such as strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and creative thinking.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and complete statistic requests from all Mustard Seed departments, following up with the appropriate stakeholders, as needed
- Collect monthly program data, ensuring that reported metrics are accurate, and follow up with appropriate stakeholders when discrepancies exist
- Clean, organize, transform, and restructure program data to align with our existing storage practices, ensuring calculated statistics are precise and accurately reflect program integration
- Create KPI reports that showcase program data as performance metrics, adhering to the existing design template while incorporating new elements that advance their impact
- Collaborate with program leaders on data process improvements, parameter definitions, tracker enhancements, and other initiatives that refine program data reporting
- Document existing processes, procedures, and best practices for long-term department sustainability
- Assist the Director, QMS with new storage optimizations, analytical initiatives, process enhancements, system features, and other ad hoc requests, as needed
- Required to abide by all Health & Safety protocols including completing a report for all incidents that occur, including near misses, in a timely manner
- Other duties as may be assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- A post-secondary degree in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, business intelligence, or other related disciplines
- Proficiency with basic statistics and mathematics
- 2+ years of experience using data visualization tools (eg. MS Power BI, Tableau)
- Advanced skill in MS Excel
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Creative, teachable, and detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent administration, time management, and organizational skills
- Previous experience working with a marginalized population, particularly the homeless, would be considered an asset
- Knowledge and/or experience with other MS tools (eg. Outlook, SharePoint, PowerApps, Dynamics, Dataverse) would be considered an asset
- Experience with programming languages (eg. VBA, SQL, PHP, jQuery, Python, R, etc.) would be considered an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lifting, traveling, sitting, standing, walking, driving personal vehicle etc. required as part of this role
- Hybrid work environment, with at least two days in the office
- Some travel may be required
- Office environment—more mental than physical—extensive periods of sedentary work
