Location: North York
We are looking for a Nutrition Specialist for Nestle Canada based at our North York Location. This role will leverage your nutrition knowledge and expertise by providing Nutrition, Health and Wellness strategic support to the Nestlé Canada Business Categories.
A day in the life of...
As a Nutrition Specialist you will have the opportunity to leverage nutrition insights to Influence strategic direction of the Nestle Business Categories and brands driving product improvements, innovation and communication that supports the NHW vision of the business and company.
You will also:
Utilize nutritional science expertise and consumer knowledge to activate Nutrition, Health and Wellness (NHW) strategies and activities within our Business Categories:
Leverage nutrition science and consumer insights to influence the strategic direction of the Business Categories and brands driving product improvements, innovations, and communication that support the NHW vision of the category and company.
Disseminate and activate Global NHW priorities and policies within the Business Categories in a strategic and efficient manner
Track and report NHW results and progress to key internal and global stakeholders
Advise senior level management on NHW opportunities, consumer trends, issues, competitive activity and external happenings affecting their business.
Educate and inspire internal stakeholders such as marketing, product development and sales on key nutritional science and consumer topics and relevant NHW trends
Manage nutrient profiling and communication activities such Nutrition Foundation (NF) product assessments, competitive assessments and on-pack communications such as the Nestlé Nutritional Compass and Portion Guidance.
Liaise with regulatory specialists on the development of nutrition and health claims and communications.
Create nutrition content for a variety of relevant external communication activities, such as consumer-facing communications, sales and customer activations and e-commerce platforms.
Liaise with Global Nutrition Networks to leverage expertise and knowledge within the Canadian market.
Mentor Dietic Interns to help them grow and learn Nutrition in a professional consumer setting
Support special projects as assigned such as Nestlé’s corporate wellness initiatives, NHW research programs and sales/customer programs.
Represent Nestlé Canada externally where appropriate, such as the Dietitians of Canada conference.
Be a part of and work closely with the Corporate Affairs Team and Communications team members
What will make you successful
As the successful candidate, you will be the NHW champion for the brands that you support and throughout the organisation so you will need to be passionate, results focused and really enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. You have demonstrated project management and collaboration skills involving various stakeholders/divisions. You can navigate complex situations, and gain senior level alignment in a professional, confidential manner. Must possess strong written, communication and presentation skills.
Registered Dietitian (College of Dietitians of Ontario) with post-secondary degree in nutritional or health sciences
Minimum 3 years’ experience, within business environment or food industry.
Ability to influence non-nutrition experts on the Nutrition Environment
Execute Nutrition Health & Wellness with Excellence
Ability to translate Nutrition Knowledge in Meaningful Ways
Interest/experience in sustainable diets and food systems an asset
Master's in Health Sciences or Nutrition Communication is preferred
