Job Description:
As an HVAC Technician at CIMS LP, you will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You will report to the Construction Manager and be accountable for:
- Assembling, installing, repairing, and replacing a variety of systems in commercial and industrial settings.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and overhauling entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Repairing and replacing components for entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Providing technical support in the field of servicing mechanical and HVAC systems.
- Participating in and adhering to the safety protocols of CIMS LP, while utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable.
Qualifications:
You are the ideal candidate for this role if you:
- Hold certification as a certified HVAC journeyperson and are a member (or willing to join) of their respective union, Local 516.
- Have 3-5 years of experience as a qualified HVAC technician.
- Possess a Provincial Safety Authority Gas Ticket (an asset).
- Have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Hold a Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver’s abstract (an asset).
Key Responsibilities:
Your success in this role will be measured by:
- Accurately preparing work estimates.
- Effectively interpreting and utilizing blueprints.
- Proficiently installing and calibrating controls, including wiring.
- Ensuring precise measurement and installation of refrigeration or air conditioning components.
- Thoroughly testing systems for leaks and functionality.
- Adhering to legislative requirements, maintaining detailed documentation, performing maintenance and repairs, and ensuring equipment safety and cleanliness.
