Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures on various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse renovation, restoration, and new construction projects, contributing to the successful completion of high-quality structures.
Responsibilities
- Construct and install formwork systems according to schematics and blueprints, ensuring precise measurements and alignment.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for lifting and positioning formwork components safely.
- Install rebar reinforcement in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, assemble, and secure formwork materials such as wood, metal, or plastic.
- Perform concrete pouring, finishing, and related tasks once formwork is in place.
- Read schematics and blueprints accurately to determine formwork layout and specifications.
- Conduct maintenance and restoration of existing formwork structures for ongoing projects or renovations.
- Ensure all work complies with safety protocols, including heavy lifting techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and tools.
- Proficiency in carpentry, masonry, concrete forming, and concrete finishing techniques.
- Experience with rebar installation work is a plus.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and schematics interpretation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels, wrenches, as well as power tools like drills and grinders.
- Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks consistently.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe work environment at all times. Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
