About the Role
The Heritage Tea Room is seeking an experienced and highly skilled culinary professional to lead our kitchen and oversee catering operations across the organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining scratch cooking and baking with catering and event coordination. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food, managing kitchen operations, and planning and executing catering services and special events.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily kitchen operations, including cooking and baking from scratch
- Develop and execute seasonal menus and catering offerings
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver catering services and events company-wide
- Manage food production, scheduling, and event logistics
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and supplier coordination
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
- Train and support kitchen staff as needed
- Control food costs and minimize waste
Qualifications
- 5+ years culinary experience in a professional kitchen
- Strong background in both cooking and baking (scratch kitchen experience required)
- Experience in catering, banquet production, or event food service
- Event coordination or hospitality operations experience considered a strong asset
- Proven leadership or kitchen supervisory experience
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Food Handler Certification required or willing to obtain
