Hycroft is currently seeking a Intermediate Electrical/Controls Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Intermediate Electrical/Controls Engineer is responsible for developing safe engineering solutions by using professional judgement in developing designs, analyzing issues and resolving problems, and interpreting engineering specifications. The Intermediate Electrical/Controls Engineer will assist the Project Manager to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and within the budget according to the scope. The position is a hybrid role, based both remotely and in Surrey, BC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop workplans, scheduling and budgets
- Oversee and coordinate the preparation of front-end design documents, construction/engineering work packages and cost estimates
- Coordination of 3rd party consultants, contractors and vendors
- Ensure all engineering work is performed in accordance with client standards
- Prepare detailed analysis, design, and project deliverables including drawings, specifications and reports
- Effectively communicates with the project manager(s), team members, clients, and other stakeholders at all stages of a project to identify and address problems and bottlenecks
- Site visits to facilities and project sites if required
- Prepares project documents – scheduling, project plans, scope documents, RFI’s, extra-scope forms, CWPs, and meeting minutes to project stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Required)
- Authorized to work in Canada (Required)
- Engineering Consultancy: 2 year (Required)
- Project Engineering: 2 years (Preferred)
- EIT or Eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer with APEGBC
- Familiarity with P&ID’s, and other process related documentation
- Excellent Organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (including MS Teams and experience with MS Project)
- Exceptional Interpersonal and communication skills- both written and verbal
- Travel may be required based on project requirements
