We are currently looking for a Publishing Consultant to join our remote workforce.
As Canada’s largest publishing service provider, FriesenPress helps authors realize their dream of publishing a book. Our suite of products includes various publishing packages containing a wide range of professional services. From editing, book layout and design, channel distribution and marketing support, we help writers self-publish and succeed.
FriesenPress Publishing Consultants are responsible for nurturing aspiring authors with an interest in self-publishing through the sales cycle. You will contact and respond to leads that span the entire sales cycle, from those making an inquiry to those ready to publish. This is a consultative sales role—you are responsible for educating the author about our services, understanding the author’s needs, suggesting the products that best meet their needs, and nurturing a long and valuable relationship.
You are proactive, persistent, competitive, and motivated by the idea of having control over your commissions. You are a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record of success.
Job Details
- Make first-contact calls and follow-up calls with prospects and authors from a daily call list
- Qualify prospects based on FriesenPress sales processes and guidelines
- Identify prospective authors' needs early on and guide them to make a purchasing decision that fulfils those needs
- Capture and maintain full details of all calls in the CRMs customer records, following FriesenPress sales procedures
- Follow up and reply to inbound calls and emails about limited-time offers and other promotions sent out by FriesenPress
- Reply to online and telephone inquiries for information
- Lead video (Google Meet/Zoom) presentations and client meetings
- Provide weekly forecasting updates for current- and future-month sales
- Achieve monthly sales targets
- Perform sales-related administrative tasks
- Perform outbound sales activities as directed by the sales manager
- Perform other job assignments as prescribed by the sales manager
Qualifications
- MINIMUM 2+ years of direct telephone sales experience
- Highly results oriented and motivated by monthly sales targets
- Proven history of ability to consistently close business
- Strong customer orientation
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently, as required
- Excellent organizational skills, time-management skills, and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships over the phone
- Computer literacy: familiar with Word processing and spreadsheet software
- Prior use of CRM software is an asset
- Prior book-publishing knowledge would be an asset

Compensation & Application Process
We offer an attractive compensation package, including:
- Base salary of $51,405 - $56,100 with a commission structure based on sales performance for an additional maximum of $45,000
- Company-wide profit sharing (Employee Ownership Trust)
