CNC Operator – Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and specifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Load raw materials and secure workpieces into CNC machines.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet quality specifications.
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic machine adjustments.
- Measure and inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Identify and report machine malfunctions or quality issues.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CNC milling or CNC turning (lathe).
- Knowledge of G-code and CNC programming is an asset.
- Experience with Mastercam or other CAM software is an advantage.
- Forklift or overhead crane certification is considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery and noise.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing facility where safety, quality, and teamwork are essential. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection, must be worn at all times.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
