We are seeking a motivated and versatile individual to join our small company as a Retail & Fulfillment Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our business operations, encompassing both retail shop responsibilities and fulfillment tasks. As a small business, we expect our team members to be adaptable and willing to contribute in various areas as needed.
Responsibilities:
Retail Shop Operations:Create a welcoming environment for customers and engage in friendly conversations about our shop and the local community.
Ensure the storefront is clean, and well-stocked.
Perform daily sweeping, cleaning of high-touch areas, and garbage/recycling removal.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of shelving units, displays, and storage areas.
Process cash and card transactions, including returns, using an iPad-based system (Shopify).
Work collaboratively as part of a larger staff team, while also being able to work independently to open/close the shop as needed.
Fulfillment and Warehouse Duties:Assist in fulfilling online orders, including packing, labeling, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
Familiarize yourself with our shipping software and ensure timely and accurate parcel dispatch.
Receive and unpack deliveries, count inventory, and assist in rearranging inventory as required.
Contribute to the organization and tidiness of the warehouse space.
Shared Duties:Support general tasks such as sweeping, watering plants, cleaning, and maintaining the overall tidiness of the space.
Stay updated and knowledgeable about our products and local events to provide helpful information to customers.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in small business retail or other high-pressure customer-facing industries (like restaurant or tourism) is an asset.
- Enthusiasm for handcrafted goods, community engagement, and supporting local artisans.
- Ability to work independently and proactively resolve problems.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle changes and shifting priorities.
- Willingness to learn about products, local events, and ask questions to support continuous learning.
- Reliable availability with the ability to work weekdays and weekends as required.
Working Hours and Schedule:
- This is a full-time position with a seasonal contract from August to December.
- Weekend availability is essential for this role.

Something To Note: We are still a very small business. Working in a small business means that no two days are ever the same and we have a very "all hands on deck" mentality. We all perform tasks that are outside the scope of our job descriptions everyday. Sometimes you are going to have to clean a bathroom, fix a printer issue or rearrange the store shelves. Maybe even all on the same day. Nothing is off the table, and you need to know that going in!
