The Multi-Skilled Operator executes a broad range operational activities/processes, in accordance with established specifications and (quality, safety and environment) guidelines, to achieve the production / operational targets for the assigned area.
The Multi-Skilled Operator is an “all-round” operator role, capable of performing all operational processes in production. He / she is able to operate all types of equipment and machinery that requires advanced specialized. The Multi-Skilled Operator typically combines proficiency in the specialized use of materials, equipment and tools with a broad practical work experience.
The Multi-Skilled Operator is the highest operator role in the day-to-day production process, working closely with the (Shift) Supervisor / Team Leader. In a 24/7 production environment, outside day-shift hours, the Multi-Skilled Operator supports the (Shift) Supervisor in ensuring the continuous running of the plant’s production processes.
Depending on the size and structure of the production organization, the Multi-Skilled Operator may be capable / required to stand-in for supervisory roles in production.
Operational tasks:
o Executes a broad range of operational activities / processes (such as discharge, load, transport, clean, label, operate all equipment), in order to execute / manage parts / stages in production, contributing to a safe, effective and efficient production processes.
Maintenance & repair tasks:
o Periodically inspects and executes maintenance tasks on the production equipment, signalling defects and deficiencies.
o If applicable and appropriate, conducts minor repair work and/or assists Maintenance staff with larger maintenance and repair tasks
Reporting:
o Logs data and information on production orders and activities in the appropriate logbooks / systems in order to have a complete administration and insight in the state and progress of production orders
Continuous improvement:
o Signals deviations in current processes, techniques and/or systems and flags opportunities for improvement with supervisor, in order to continuously optimize and improve operational (work) processes, tools and systems.
o May participate in improvement projects
Safety & Compliance:
o Works in compliance with all relevant (personal as well as food) safety, environmental and quality regulations and procedures, as well as operational standards
o Promotes awareness on SHEQ, signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations
Good housekeeping:
o Ensures the work area is left clean and in a safe working condition and that there are no hazardous situations. Maintains the appearance of the production line(s), working area(s) and production site
Know-How, required knowledge / education and experience:
· Vocational, 6 – 8 years’ broad working experience
· Advanced specialized training

Performs a full range of semi-routine and standardized tasks which can cover the full production process, including troubleshooting
Operates highly complex equipment and machinery that is critical to the production process.
Coaches less experienced colleagues.

Work Coordination:
Plans and coordinates work for the team / group and trains lower level employees, may perform supervisory tasks in operations, either permanently or temporary (stand-in)
