Overall focus is on engaging/working with key partners on partner-developed initiatives to ensure alignment to Sun Life Financial Distribution strategy and goals. Will also provide input and feedback on development of communication and change management plans.
The primary goal is to work with partners in prioritizing initiatives with the greatest potential to increase advisor productivity and/or improved client engagement. Success will be achieved when enablement and alignment plans allow our partners to execute on initiatives that meet or exceed our collective goals.
Focus will be on key partnerships such as Insurance, Sun Life Global Investments (SLGI), and other “non-Sun Life Financial Distribution”(SLFD) relationships although the Director Distribution Engagement will be a key resource in enabling the entire Distribution strategy through effective partner communication and outcomes based execution plans.
What will you do?

Develop a multifaceted and comprehensive Communications & Engagement strategy to align advisors, managers and head office partners to the Distribution strategic objectives and support sales.
Develop best practices, in conjunction with partners, for content management and enablement of communication; develop tools for Regional Vice Presidents (RVP) and managers to communicate effectively to advisors and Financial Center staff; design and implement a feedback loop to iterate and improve tools and best practices.
Develop Change Management plans and tactics to support behaviour changes in advisors, managers and Head Office partners.
Collaborate with Head Office partners to ensure that initiatives serve advisor businesses appropriately; partner within Head Office to align initiatives with measurable outcomes that support sales; develop and implement feedback loops that measure performance against projected outcomes and identify success or failure to inform iterations.
Lead, organize and enable Sales Force Advisory Council (SFAC) and other feedback forums; synthesize feedback and provide recommendations to executives. Coordinate partner engagement with SFAC and broader functional committees made up of Advisors and Managers.
Utilizing advisor feedback, develop and drive new ways of supporting sales, reframing the ideas and approaches of our business partners, and initiating discussions on improving products, services and processes.
Develop criteria to assess alignment of internal partners to Sun Life Financial Distribution strategy and goals; leverage assessment metrics to design best practices and measure success of intended business outcomes of all field facing communications; develop best practices to measure outcomes against projections.
What you need to succeed?

University degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in coaching, consultation, sales in financial services, and relationship management.
Strong project and program skills.
Strong client relationship skills and a client centric mindset.
A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process with prior experience leading a team through change.
Problem solving, analytical and decision making skills including the ability to build consensus.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) including the ability to influence and negotiate.
Background in financial services preferred.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
