An exciting opportunity to join the Executive team of a fast-growing online travel company in a key role.

Fresh Tracks Canada creates and sells custom vacations to visitors to Canada through its websites www.CanadaVacations.com , www.CanadianTrainVacations.com and www.CanadaPolarBears.com .

We are on the cusp of scaling, and as VP of Marketing and Customer Experience you’ll be responsible both for driving revenue and improving all touch points of the customer’s journey with us.

We are a values-driven company and one of our values is ‘legendary hospitality’ - so we want someone with a passion for travel who is fanatical about every aspect of branding and the customer experience.

You’ll need the breadth of experience and strategic thinking to take responsibility for all aspects of the customer journey - from making sure we have the right trips to meet the needs of our target customers; to marketing them creatively; to making sure our sales system is effective and supporting our brand; to doing whatever it takes to fulfill our goal of legendary hospitality before, during and after our guests travel.

Cultural fit is really important to us – you’ll need to be focused and driven, but also collaborative, fun and friendly, as you mentor and coach the leaders of our Product, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service teams.

Our office is in downtown Vancouver and we currently have about 90 employees.

We are looking for an exceptional individual and compensation is flexible and dependent on level of experience.

Who you are

You are a results-driven executive with at least 10 experience in sales and marketing and ideally some tourism or hospitality experience.

You may have cut your teeth working as a brand-manager for a major consumer goods company, or in a catalog company, a direct-sell website or on the DM team of an agency. Or you may have come up through the ranks of several travel companies. What you have done and what you can do matters more to us than the path you have taken.

You love getting things done, solving puzzles and getting results
You can manage sales, marketing and product development teams
You are strategic and tactical – always thinking about how you can make the most of web pages, campaigns, offers, brochures, social media posts etc.
You have strong planning and project management skills.
You can recognize - and, when necessary, write - strong headlines and copy;
You have a great eye for inspiring visuals because travel is emotional.
You are a Brand Champion. You may have started as a brand manager for a major consumer company, or you may have picked up branding along the way - but you have drunk the branding Kool-aid and you really get it.

You understand brand at a deep level – it’s in your bones.
You can write creative briefs and hold people to them;
You instantly know if something is on or off-brand,
You are always looking for insights into customer behavior
You are creative at finding fresh ways to communicate our brand.
You are a strong action-oriented leader. Above all, we are looking for someone who can drive the productivity of our Product, Marketing, Sales and Guest Relations teams. We know where we are going; we know what we stand for; what our brand and strategy is – now we need a creative leader and manager who can help us fulfill our vision.
