Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fork Lift Operator / Lead Hand to join our warehouse team. This role involves operating forklifts, manage inventory, facilitate order picking, and support warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and coordinate their team effectively.
Duties
- Operate forklift, efficiently move, load, and unload goods within the warehouse.
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff during daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist truck drivers with outbound loads.
- Perform order picking using warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Lifting as required to handle inventory items of various sizes and weights.
- Assist in maintaining organized storage areas, ensuring proper stacking and storage of products.
- Support inventory management activities including stock counts, and restocking.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to operational procedures and safety protocols at all times.
- Perform routine mechanical checks on equipment and report any issues for maintenance or repair.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts, and order pickers in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order processing and inventory control.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Leadership qualities with experience supervising or leading a team.
- Valid certification for forklift operation is required.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to safety compliance. This role is integral to maintaining efficient warehouse operations through skilled equipment handling, accurate order fulfillment, and effective team leadership.
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
