Position: Family Support Worker
Location: London and Surrounding Area
Hours: Various weekday and weekend shifts
Position Summary:
As a skilled Support Worker, you will provide one-to-one support for individuals in their family home and in the community. You will be responsible for assisting with personal care, seizure monitoring, and any other areas of the person’s life that is of value to them. Flexibility, creativity, and time management are essential to being successful in this role.

Applicants with DSW education, and previous support experience will be given preference.
Successful candidates will:
- Work 6-30hrs/week, with opportunity to pick up more.
- Work in a family home environment, take direction from family and work independently
- Complete personal care in a respectful manner.
- Assist individuals with community engagement, and plan meaningful activities and skill building.
- Remain calm in stressful situations.
- Support and work with families with various points of view and approaches.
- Cope with risk behavior while remaining neutral and professional.
- Create/follow support strategies and protocols to ensure safety and security.
Position Requirements:
- Reliable, punctual, and confident.
- Must have current First Aid & CPR and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Excellent verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Must be respectful and maintain confidentially.
- DSW, PSW, nursing, and/or related education.
- Certification in CPI/BMAB/an asset
- COVID-19 Vaccination is required
- Preference given to candidates with availability on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am-4:30pm
- Preference given to candidates fluent in Spanish and Arabic
PHSS has a mandatory COVID Vaccination Policy. PHSS will provide PPE as required/requested.
Salary: $26.62/hr
