Job Description

QuadReal is seeking an individual for a dual role: Senior Risk Advisor and Internal Auditor with a dual report to both the Director, Internal Audit and the VP Compliance and ERM. As an integral member of both teams, the successful applicant will be responsible for planning and executing risk assessments, internal audit and risk mitigation projects, internal control assignments and related projects. We are looking for a candidate with strong financial acumen, demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, confidence based on job-knowledge, a positive attitude, excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet strict deadlines. The Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit team is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and useful insights and recommendations to improve QuadReal’s governance, risk management, and control.

Risk Management support

Implement methods for risk identification and monitoring and communicate risk management strategy to departments throughout the organization
Assist with the development of risk processes, including department risk / controls, self assessments, risk measures, and liaise with various department leads regarding risk registers
Develop reporting framework to analyze, report, and track operational risk losses
Draft risk related reports, policies, procedures and standards to ensure industry standards and regulations are met or exceeded
Conduct risk analyses and identify internal and external risk trends and operational issues

Corporate Internal Audit support

Design audit objectives, logistics, schedule and scope
Planning and execution of risk-based operational, financial, regulatory and compliance audits
Perform special projects, including advisory assignments, at direction of Director, Internal Audit
Design and evaluate internal controls and operating practices
Assess and prioritize audit findings based on risk and initiate corrective measures to ensure effectiveness of financial, operational and compliance processes and systems
Utilize benchmarking analysis and other KPI’s to evaluate QuadReal’s business processes and controls
Draft audit reports, including the audit findings and appropriate corrective actions specified by management
Follow up on prior audit findings and work with issue owners to ensure timely completion
Assist on departmental initiatives / projects as needed collaboratively with co-sourcing partner and other external subject matter experts

Over 3-5 years of audit experience in accounting firm or industry
Over 3-5 years of risk related experience
Prior experience with Oracle JD Edwards and Yardi is an asset
Experience with Microsoft Office products
Experience with analytical tools such as ACL, IDEA and SAS is a plus
Prior experience in the real estate industry is an asset

Education and Qualifications:
Professional auditing and/or accounting designation (CPA-CA/CIA/CFE/CMA/CISA/CISSP)
Bachelors and/or Masters degree in business

Travel estimated at 30-40%
